A national solar policy is likely to be announced in November this year, union minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah said here today.
Abdullah said that national policy to be announced on November 14 will promise vast incentives to the users of solar energy.
The union minister who held a meeting with Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal here said that the Centre has decided to develop Shimla and Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh as solar cities.
Besides, Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry Nauni, Solan and National Institute of Technology Hamirpur would be developed as energy parks under non-renewable energy programme of the central government, an official state government release said.
